About WeSantal Calendar
A voluntary cultural and educational effort to document Santali calendar cycles, traditional seasonal festivals, and community heritage.
Our Mission
The WeSantal Calendar initiative was created to provide a clean, accessible, and structured digital platform for understanding Santali months and their correspondence with the Gregorian calendar. The Santali calendar is deeply intertwined with agricultural rhythms, sacred grove (Jaher) traditions, and seasonal festivals across Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, and other regions.
By presenting dates, festivals, and cultural background in an easy-to-read bilingual and multi-perspective format, we hope to support community members, researchers, and cultural enthusiasts in preserving and celebrating this rich heritage.
Cultural Respect
Every festival and ritual is documented with care and reverence for traditional practices and elders' oral knowledge.
Community Participation
We welcome submissions from village committees and community members to ensure regional celebrations are represented.
Open Knowledge
Educational materials, festival guides, and calendar references are freely accessible for learning and documentation.
WeSantal Calendar is a non-governmental, non-statutory cultural initiative. The organization, its units (such as BSEC, MPC, and WeSantal Publisher), and this website do not claim government recognition, statutory authority, official gazette status, or legal certification power.
